State Senator || Senator de La Cruz is a member of the Rhode Island General Assembly, serving District 23. Jessica was also chosen as Minority Whip by her Republican colleagues, placing her in an important leadership role for her party and in the State Senate. Senator de La Cruz assumed office for the first time in 2019. She has been serving in two Senate Committees: Judiciary and Labor. Jessica is the daughter of Portuguese immigrants. Her father was born in Pico, Azores, and her mother in Funchal, Madeira. She continues to visit Portugal and is deeply proud of her heritage.
