US Congressman || Congressman Costa represents California’s 16th Congressional District. He has been a member of the US House of Representatives for about 15 years. James “Jim” Manuel Costa is a third-generation Portuguese-American born in Fresno, California, with an Azorean heritage (Terceira island) dating back to the early 20th century. Jim Costa dedicated his life to some of the most important issues in the San Joaquin Valley, such as water, agriculture, and the economy. A major nationwide supporter of the Portuguese-American community and of the relationship between both our countries, Jim Costa was instrumental in the passaging of the AMIGOS Act and has worked for the recognition of June as Portuguese National Heritage Month in the US.
