FLAD’s Visual Arts Course is back. After a successful first edition, which took place in Archipelago – Center of Contemporary Arts, on the Island of São Miguel, Azores, and was completed with the exhibition “chave na serradura”, in 2023 Loulé will receive this initiative for young artists working in the areas of drawing, painting and installation / sculpture. Applications are open until February 28, 2023.
This FLAD initiative consists of an eight-week advanced artistic training program, in which a group of up to 10 artists aged 25 to 35 will have the opportunity to develop individual tutored work, with invited teachers who will train during each of the 8 weeks of this course.
The course will take place between September 15 and November 19, 2023 and will be essentially practical, with a full-time workshop activity, accompanied by renowned teachers, who will stimulate critical thinking and individual imagery and collaborative work. At the end of the course, the artists will have the opportunity to present the work developed in a dedicated exhibition.
The Municipality of Loulé will be our institutional partner in this program, which will take place in Gama Lobo Palace. Accommodation is included, as well as a production grant of €400 per artist for the works to be produced during the course.
