FLAD, in partnership with Direção-Geral do Livro, Arquivos e Bibliotecas – Arquivo Nacional da Torre do Tombo (DGLAB-ANTT), launches the 2024 edition of the short-term research grants, with the aim of supporting the promotion of Portuguese language and culture in the USA.
This program is intended for students, faculty, and researchers from universities and/or research centers in the United States, who are interested in studying the collections and documentary collections of the Arquivo Nacional da Torre do Tombo, with a view to the elaboration of projects in the field of archival, history, or Portuguese culture and language.
The fellowships have a minimum duration of one month and a maximum of three months and must be started by December 2024.
The planned support is 1,400 euros per month, plus an additional payment of 750 euros, to subsidize travel-related costs.
Each candidate must include in the application:
- Application form, properly filled out;
- Curriculum vitae of the candidate;
- Brief biographical note on the candidate;
- Description of the study plan and the project it is part of;
- A document certifying the affiliation to the University or Institute with which the candidate is associated;
- Credentials that support the project and that are of interest for the appraisal of the application.
