FLAD, in partnership with Direção-Geral do Livro, Arquivos e Bibliotecas – Arquivo Nacional da Torre do Tombo (DGLAB-ANTT), launches the 2025 edition of short-term research grants, with the aim of supporting the promotion of the Portuguese language and culture in the USA.
This program is aimed at students, teachers and researchers from universities and/or research centers in the United States, who are interested in studying the collections and documentary collections of the National Archive of Torre do Tombo, with a view to developing projects in the field of archival sciences, history, or Portuguese culture and language.
The fellowships have a minimum duration of one month and a maximum of three months and must start by December 2025.
The planned support is 1,400 euros per month, plus an additional payment of 750 euros, to subsidize travel-related costs.
Each candidate must include in the application:
- Application form, duly completed, available here;
- Curriculum vitae of the candidate;
- Brief biographical note on the candidate;
- Description of the study plan and the project it is part of;
- A document certifying the affiliation to the University or Institute with which the candidate is associated;
- Credentials that support the project and that are of interest for the appraisal of the application.
