In the coming months, FLAD will be developing various initiatives in the area of Art and Culture, which aim to promote the development of the sector, but also to continue to invest in the talent and projects of Portuguese and American artists.
The winner of the 3rd edition of the FLAD Drawing Prize is almost known. The prize has already earned its place and continues to receive applications of increasing quality. On October 28, we’ll be at Drawing Room Lisbon to meet Maria Capelo and Pedro Tropa‘s successor.
Portuguese artists who want to develop an artistic residency in the USA can apply for a FLAD grant until January 15, 2024 and Portuguese and American publishers who want to translate important works into Portuguese or English can do so in October and May.
Outsiders – American Independent Cinema – is returning to Cinema São Jorge in Lisbon. FLAD’s Visual Arts Course, the 2nd edition of which is already underway in Loulé, will return next year at a date and place to be decided, to continue bringing young artists together with internationally renowned artists for 8 weeks.
After a successful first year, Meet the Author – Encounters with American Writers will continue to bring big names in American literature to FLAD in 2024.
Check out the calendar of initiatives that are already planned and stay tuned, because new opportunities will certainly arise throughout the year, which we will continue to inform everyone about:
