State Senator || Jake Ashby was elected to the New York State Senate in 2022, representing the 43rd District. Senator Ashby is excited to bring his common sense, bipartisan approach to the State Senate. Jake will continue to advocate for the programme that helps veterans transition to civilian life. He is a strong advocate for the Second Amendment. A former army reserve captain, Jake fought in Afghanistan and Iraq and was deployed to support a humanitarian mission in Africa. He has also worked as an occupational therapist and rehabilitation director for the past 20 years. His Portuguese roots come from his mother’s side (Sousa).
