In 2019, the MIT-Portugal Annual Conference – “The Atlantic as a platform for science and technological impact.” – took place in Ponta Delgada, with a special focus on the Atlantic agenda.
The MIT-Portugal Program is an international partnership between Portuguese universities and research institutions, MIT, the Government of Portugal and industry partners. This collaboration with MIT aims to strengthen the scientific knowledge produced in Portugal and further the ability to solve current challenges in Portuguese and World Science.
With its eyes set in the Azores, where the scientific activity is increasingly strong, this conference represented an important milestone for the Archipelago, a strategic element in the 2030 vision of international partnership programs in Science and Technology.
At the MIT-Portugal Annual Conference, Professor Elsa Henriques was proud to grant on behalf of FLAD, awards to the best posters for the dissemination of doctoral research work. The awards went to students from Instituto Superior Técnico and Minho University, for work in climate change and renewable energies in island regions and the digitization of the industry.
Congratulations to all the participants!
