Applications are now open for the FLAD Grants for Artist Residencies in the USA in 2025, which aim to support the development and training of artists of Portuguese nationality or resident in Portugal for more than five years.
The FLAD Grants for Artistic Residencies in the United States will support artists aged between 25 and 35 who wish to develop an artistic residency in a North American institution. Artists with projects in the fields of photography, cinema, jazz, literature and visual arts can apply.
FLAD will support the chosen artists with up to 1,200 euros per week, up to a maximum of four months, in artistic residencies that start during the year 2025. Applications will be open until February 14, 2025.
Applications
Who can apply?
- Artists of Portuguese nationality or foreign artists who have been living in Portugal for more than 5 years;
- Age between 25 and 35 years;
- Proficiency in English.
Documents required:
- Artistic and/or academic CV in the mentioned areas;
- Present plan for the period of artistic residency;
- Submit a letter of recommendation;
- Present letter of acceptance of the American institution where you will develop the artistic residency;
- Submit a budget, discriminating the costs and sources of funding to which you have competed or will compete for your stay in the USA.
FLAD support:
- Funding up to a maximum of EUR 1200/week, up to a maximum of four months.
Deadlines:
- Applications open from 15 November 2024 to 14 February 2025;
- Results announced until February 28, 2025.
