FLAD, in partnership with Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal (BNP), is launching the 2023 edition of its short-term research grants program.
This program aims to stimulate the knowledge of Portuguese culture in the U.S., as well as to increase scientific and cultural cooperation and exchange between the two countries. The FLAD-BNP grant is open to researchers affiliated with higher education institutions or research centers in the United States and aims to support research on topics related to Portuguese history, culture and language, based on the collections of Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal (BNP).
The BNP and FLAD intend to welcome researchers to provide them with a productive stay in Portugal, giving them the means to develop their work and finance travel and stays.
The fellowships have a minimum duration of one month and a maximum duration of three months and must be started by December 2023.
A monthly allowance of €1,400.00 for each month of the scholarship duration, regardless of location in Portugal, and an additional support of €750,00 to subsidize travel-related costs.
Each candidate must include in the application:
- Application form, properly filled out;
- Curriculum vitae of the candidate;
- Brief biographical note on the candidate;
- Description of the study plan and the project it is part of;
