FLAD’s new program – OpenArt – Competition for the Itinerancy of the FLAD Collection – is aimed at museums, municipal or private, and art centers in Portugal that wish to promote, in partnership with FLAD, an exhibition of works from the Foundation’s contemporary art collection.
FLAD’s new program – OpenArt – Competition for the Itinerancy of the FLAD Collection – will make works from the Foundation’s contemporary art collection available for exhibition in museums, municipal or private, or art centers in Portugal. In addition to granting the works, FLAD will work in partnership with the selected entity during the entire process of conceiving the exhibition, selecting and mounting the works, as well as defining the program of parallel activities, in coordination with the respective artistic and cultural education service. OpenArt aims to take FLAD’s collection to other parts of the country, contributing to bringing local communities closer to contemporary art and reinforcing the institutions’ work in producing and disseminating knowledge and cultural offerings.
The selected entity will have the opportunity to accompany and participate in the entire exhibition project, appointing a local curator who will work in direct collaboration with the curator designated by FLAD. Among the requirements needed for applications are:
