An invitation to a wedding leads young Tana (Lily Gladstone), who is in mourning for a recent loss, to become closer to her Oglala Lakota family who she hasn´t seen for a long time. On this journey, mostly alone, through the Midwest to the border between Texas and Mexico, Tana navigates a complex social climate after the 2016 elections, as well as an increasingly surreal landscape. On the way, she establishes unexpected relationships with people who are as much a part of it as the mountains or the roads. Morrisa Maltz, making her narrative debut, creates a work of rare visual fluidity, in which some have noticed the influence of Terrence Malick, and for which she collaborated not only with Gladstone, but also several other members of the cast.
