A House Is Not A Disco uses empathy and curiosity to examine the current life experiences of those who live, work and search for a bit of pleasure within the most radical “homonormative” community in the world: Fire Island Pines. Under the watchful eye of first-time director Brian J. Smith, better known for having participated in several television series, the film documents a year in the life of the visitors to, and inhabitants of, this “small coastal queer town”, accompanying their daily activities, such as trips to the local supermarket or the planning of wild parties. The film introduces a cast of activists, eccentrics, new arrivals and much more; people who just desire a life of inclusion and freedom.
