Debra Winger and Tracy Letts play a couple that fell out of love a long time ago, and who are both in stable extramarital relationships, increasingly demanding more and more attention. Unexpectedly, when a visit from their son is announced, a spark is awakened between them, which leads to unforeseeable consequences. With much sensitivity, and precious help from his cast, Azazel Jacobs appropriates the usual romantic comedy material to recover the sophisticated “comedy of remarriage” of the 30s, as characterized by the philosopher and essayist Stanley Cavell.
